With the Turk in Turkey, I fieldtripped with cousin Stuart and husband Gerard to the new Imagine Museum in St. Petersburg. This museum focuses on the American Studio Glass movement that started in the 1960's. There are over 500 pieces of glass art by over 55 artists representing this movement. Studio glass became possible with the invention of the studio glass furnace introduced by Harvey Littleton. Dale Chihuly is probably the most popular artist from this group. St. Pete is becoming a key city for glass artists and museums - which is wonderful since I love anything glass. Glass, however, doesnt always love ME!
