A bit of background

So, we begin our adventure while living in the San Francisco Bay peninsula area. Mark's daughters are either in college - the veiled one, or on their way - the dreadlocked one. This leaves KO and the Turk with an empty house, and the sense that it is time they started a new adventure.

Being more traditional than the turkettes, we chose to pack our bags and see sites and friends while crossing the great divide between the blue and the red states. What else would we like to see and do along the way? Discover the last great diner, see that amazing sunset (Turk doesnt rise before the sun), smell the mountain air (scarce in Florida), and find the perfect BBQ sauce.

Thanks 'dreadlocked one'! so far, we've both survived 2 days with no lost limbs, or broken appendages....tho I did stumble on a downhill hike at Lassen which was oddly familiar. Needless to say, your dad had a mild fit. :')
