We stayed in old cottages on Key Largo called
Pelican Cottages. Each cottage is different and we think we stayed in the oldest one based on the steel crank windows and the location of the cabin. We were on the bay side - west side - of the island, so each night we could sit at our own beach and watch the sunset while listening to live music from the bar down the beach.

Ahhhh, hanging at our beach |
We caught up with the brewery scene, finding a new brewery since last year -
Florida Keys Brewing Company. It was a fun place, and what great beer choices! What was nice was that most of the customers were locals, so it was even more fun. We also visited a fave restaurant of ours called
MEAT for a burger and beer. Their creative burgers and adult beverages were fun and delicious!

I liked how the mermaid hair color coordinated with the beer color |

Yes, there is wildlife in the Keys. But the wildlife we mostly ran into was the more low-key type.
Its all about the water in the Keys, and the fish. While we ran across a lot of water, the fish were a bit scarce for us. We ended up 'catching' our yellow tail snapper at the fish market where SOMEONE ELSE caught them that morning.

The Turk found some coconuts at the
Pioneer Cemetery at Islamorada. His own pioneering spirit took over as he decided to break open one of the coconuts to see what he could get. What I got was fresh coconut water for my rum cocktail!

First you need a rock |

And then you need muscles |

Use anything sharp to expand the hole made by the rock |
